Kensington lock horns with Melbourne
Kensington CC and urban area rivals Melbourne CC will lock horns in a much-anticipated clash at Kensington Park in this weekend’s round of matches in the 2012 Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) two-day Senior Cup Championship.
The reigning champions Manchester will travel to the Spanish Town Prison Oval to open their campaign against St Catherine CA and former winners Kingston CC will host Lucas at Sabina Park.
Parish neighbours Clarendon and St Catherine CC are set to square off at the Jamalco Sports Complex, while at Collie Smith Drive, Boys’ Town welcome St Thomas.
Trelawny are scheduled to play Hanover at the Multi-Purpose Stadium and St James will visit the Manley Horne Park to face St Elizabeth.
In other matches, GC Foster entertain Kingston & St Andrew CA at the GC Foster Oval; St Ann face Police SC in Discovery Bay and Portland challenge neighbours St Mary at the Folly Oval.
All games are scheduled to start at 10:00 am each day.
Both Westmoreland and the Jamaica Defence Force received byes for this round and will be inactive.
Last weekend’s opening round of matches was postponed by the JCA due to the forecast of rainy weather.
The third round of the lower-tier Junior Cup will also proceed today at 10:00 am after the break last Saturday. The Junior Cup is regarded as a feeder competition for the Senior Cup.
