BILLY Craig Insurance Brokers, an affiliate of AON, sponsors of English Premier League Club Manchester United, in association with Caribbean Producers Jamaica (CPJ), last Monday launched their ‘Pass It On’ project at Tracks and Records in St Andrew.

CPJ, distributors of Casillero del Diablo, is also a Manchester United sponsor.

The ‘Pass It On’ event involves sending three footballs around the world, across six continents, on behalf of AON Corporation and their global connections, with their final destination set for London in June.

Jamaica was chosen as one of the points of origin, and Billy Craig and CPJ came together to unveil and sign the football, which will next travel to Miami.

Billy Craig’s CEO, William Craig, explained that AON — the principal sponsor of Manchester United — is their overseas sponsor and that the event was to help forge relations between the various affiliates.

“They are sending a few footballs around the world which are going to end up at Lloyd’s of London in June,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

“They (AON) gave us an opportunity to participate, with one of the balls to be originated here before moving on to Miami, Nicaragua, Panama, and Guatemala. We thought it would be a great idea so we jumped at it,” he explained.

According to Craig, because of their close relationship with AON, they were given this opportunity and they wanted to make the most of it.

CPJ’s brand manager Tamika West said they were there as partners of AON, Billy Craig and Manchester United, and the event also marked the public unveiling of their Casillero del Diablo wine as a Manchester United sponsor.

“We’re here not only as a partner with Billy Craig, but also as a partner with the Manchester football squad… and this is also the public unveiling of the Casillero del Diablo wine as an official member of Manchester United,” she confirmed.

She said she hopes the event will bring more awareness of what CPJ does

“This will build awareness that Casillero del Diablo is an official partner… and CPJ will actually sign the official ball for the ‘Pass It On’ project… we’re grateful to Billy Craig for inviting us,” she added.

Additionally, there is a regional online contest where individuals will get a chance to win an all-expense-paid trip for two to the Old Trafford Stadium to watch an official Manchester United game for the next season.

Meanwhile, persons can buy a bottle of wine and get a free Manchester United cap or key chain at retail outlets across the island.

The ball, which arrived under stout security at the venue last Monday, was signed by Williams Craig himself, along with brand manager West, after its unveiling.
