Police foil robbery attempt in Kingston
QUICK action by police officers assigned to offices at the NCB South Towers on Oxford Road in Kingston yesterday led to the recovery of $1.4 million and US $4,000 and the arrest of one man after he attempted to rob a woman.
Information received is that about 9:00 am, the businesswoman was on her way to the National Commercial Bank with a lodgment when she was approached by a man who grabbed the bag containing the cash and ran across Old Hope Road. Police officers based at the South Tower observed what was happening and quickly responded. The man was apprehended and the stolen cash recovered. He was then taken to the Half-Way-Tree Police Station and charged.
Investigations continue.
