‘Herbert’ rally against MoBay in Girls contest
BOGUE, St James — Alicia Dawkins scored 29 of Herbert Morrison’s 31 points in their six-point come from behind 31-25 win over Montego Bay High School at Herbert Morrison on Tuesday in their ISSA/KFC Western Conference Girls Open basketball competition.
The win saw Herbert Morrison improve to six points from four games to be in fifth place behind joint leaders MoBay High, defending champions Muschett High and Spot Valley High, all on nine points. William Knibb Memorial are seven with Holland next on five points.
Tuesday’s game was a shoot-out between Dawkins and MoBay High’s Olivia Beckford, who scored 23 of her school’s 25 points.
MoBay High led for the first three quarters before the home team rallied in the final period to outscore them 16-8 and take the win.
MoBay High led 8-5, 14-9 and 18-15 at the end of the first three quarters.
