Jobs website goes mobile
The first mobile website for Jamaican jobseekers has been launched, enabling people to search and apply for jobs on the go.
Caribbeanjobs.com has run a recruitment website for the past seven years, aiming to connect jobseekers to more than 900 companies.
“The way that people search for jobs has changed and continues to change,” said general manager Richie Kelly.
“The number of applications through our site in March was our highest and all indicators suggest this growth will rapidly increase throughout the year,” he said.
The company will also connect students with universities as of next week.
Students will be able to search for tertiary institutions across the English-speaking Caribbean, starting with Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago, said spokesman Nikolas Khan.
The website has been re-vamped to include interactive pages where potential employees can take virtual tours of companies.
“Our re-designed site and mobile website will provide our Jamaican clients access to over quarter of a million jobseekers every month,” Kelly said.
Khan said the website has a high success rate.
“It’s rare when employees don’t get the results they want,” he said.
The launch of the mobile site coincided with expansion of Digicel’s 4G mobile Internet, Caribbeanjobs said.
