Trashables to Useables
In this photo courtesy of National Commercial Bank (NCB), grade 10 students of Holland High Scool in St Elizabeth showcase a flower pot they made from processed cow dung to NCB Foundation communications officer Melissa Whilby (right). The students are, from left, Patrice Morris, Lori-Ann McNeil and Nastacia Gayle.
Holland placed second in the NCB-sponsored High School Display Competition themed: ‘Trashables to Useables’, which took place during the recent Environmental Foundation of Jamaica Earth Day Expo at Hope Zoo. Using the tagline ‘conserve, protect, recycle’, the expo encouraged students to design and make items from recycled materials.
Irwin High in St James took first place.
