Youth philanthropists support education

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller (far right) and CEO of the RuJohn Foundation, Andrew Bachelor, (third left) share a moment with students shortly after they received the foundation’s Simpson Miller Awards in Kingston on June 17. The scholarships will assist the students with their education goals. From left: Racquel Jarret, Jason Williams, Kimesha Rolke and Ranjel Wynn. A total of 13 students received scholarships from the foundation this year. In addition, RuJohn will also stage celebrity basketball camps in Kingston and Negril respectively in June. In her address, Mrs Simpson Miller thanked the foundation for the five years of service to youth. The foundation’s founders are youth philanthropists, siblings Andrew and Christina Bachelor, who named the organisation in honour of their grandparents, John Tulloch and his wife Ruth.
