Cham rocks Digicel launch
DESPITE the technical hiccup, Digicel launched their 4G mobile network at the Kingston Waterfront in downtown Kingston on Monday evening.
With the Mission: Impossible theme song in the background, the details of the new, high-speed technology arrived via yacht. But a glitch in the technical set-up delayed the announcement. It was, however, sorted out promptly.
“In our fast-paced, ever-changing world, Digicel is always making sure that we stay in step with our customers and their needs. 4G Mobile will enable customers to surf their favourite websites like Facebook and YouTube and share messages and pictures with friends at faster mobile speeds,” Mark Linehan, Digicel’s chief executive officer told the Jamaica Observer.
The entertainment followed was well received.
Reggae artiste Christopher Martin elicited some positive responses with Come Where You Going, Paper Loving, Take My Wings, Real Friends as well as his take on the track If I were a Carpenter made popular by John Holt.
Nineties chart-topper Baby Cham was up next and he delivered well.
The audience danced to his string of hit songs including Ghetto Story, Many Many, Joy Ride and Vitamin S.
However, his performance peaked when he introduced his wife, O, into the mix. The couple delighted with their current hit tracks Wine and Tun Up.
