Former Miss Ja, Bayliss, wins Jamzone crown
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Kerrie Bayliss strutted away with the Miss Jamzone International crown in Guyana last night.
The former Miss Jamaica World was a crowd favourite as she danced her way to the top spot.
Moving to the beat of songs by Beenie Man, Chevelle Franklin and Elephant Man, Bayliss claimed to be the “Jamaican Dancehall Queen” just before the start of her cultural presentation.
Bayliss lived up to that proclamation, according to Jamzone’s Facebook page, as the crowd went wild when she took on the popular song, “Bubble Gyal” by local artiste Konshens.
Bayliss beat out Louise Victor of St Lucia (second) and Trevicia Adams of St Kitts and Nevis to cop the US$10,000 ($891,000) cash prize.
