As an international supermodel, Heidi Klum gives Project Runway its star factor. But she had competition when Jennifer Hudson joined her on the runway recently at New York Fashion Week.

The once-overweight Oscar winner showed just how far her transformation has come, highlighting her slimline figure in an eye-catching green trouser suit. As Jennifer, who is 5ft 9in, posed alongside Heidi, the pair simply looked like two models strutting their stuff.

Mother-of-four Heidi, a former Victoria’s Secret angel, wore a dazzling gold wrap dress with a plunging neckline, which displayed her toned physique. Cut-outs at the side showed the 39-year-old’s curves. The fashion show will become Project Runway’s season 10 finale. Heidi and Jennifer walked after a series of models, who were showcasing the designs of the three finalists, Fabio Costa, Melissa Fleis and Dmitry Sholokhov.

Jennifer, who turns 30 this week, lost more than 80lbs by following the WeightWatchers diet plan, for which she is now a spokeswoman.

Now Madonna backs President Obama

She’s never been shy of mixing politics with showbusiness. And Madonna was at it again recently, as she unveiled a huge Obama temporary tattoo on her back.

The singer made the unmissable statement during her MDNA Tour at New York’s Yankee Stadium. Clad only in a back-baring bra and trousers she turned her muscly back on the audience, all the better to show off the writing.

Despite turning 54 last month there was no rest for Madonna during her high-kicking concert. At one point she was joined on the stage by her bare-chested younger boyfriend Brahim Zaibat. She and the 24-year-old have been dating for two years. Madonna has made her left-wing leanings increasingly clear in recent months, with her endorsement of President Obama the latest in a long line of political statements.

The Gossip Girl actress who is currently dating handsome actor Ryan Reynolds revealed that the one thing that all of her boyfriends past and present have in common, is that “they all like to eat”. During an exclusive interview with Marie Claire magazine, Lively spoke up about her fashion inspirations, her obsession with the Spice Girls and why Twitter can make her life difficult.

But first, the Savages star wanted to talk about her love of food and why she spends so much time in the kitchen. “To be around me, you must love food or I’m the most obnoxious person you’ve ever met,” she explained. However, despite indulging in her favourite pasttime, Lively admitted that the secret to her staying slim is simply her age, saying: “Being 25 years old!”

Wearing a black leather basque and a matching crochet skirt in the exclusive photo shoot with the magazine, it’s clear that Lively has inherited good genes. The actress has a family who all work in the industry, including her mother who is a talent manager.

“Having family in the industry took all of the glitz and glamour out of it,” she said. “While it’s a good job, and one that they all love, it’s just a job. It isn’t a lifestyle. Hollywood is only as much of your life as you let it be. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the spotlight. The more I’m in it, the more uncomfortable I am.”
