Two charged for murder of MIT cop

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Detectives from the Major Investigation Task Force (MIT) have charged the two men who were taken into custody on Monday, September 24 for the murder of Corporal Warren Campbell.

The accused men have been identified as Glaseton Stephenson, 32, otherwise called Tyrone, an illegal taxi operator of 15 Tropical Drive, Horizon Park, St Catherine; and Kemar Hall, 28, otherwise called Garlo, a mechanic of 1 Waterloo Close, Spanish Town also in St Catherine.

The police say both men will be brought to court at the earliest possible time. 

The police report that on Thursday, September 20 Corporal Campbell was walking along Patrick Drive, Kingston 20 when he was shot and killed by unknown assailants. Further investigations led to the arrest of both men.

In addition, the Major Investigative Taskforce (MIT) has listed two other men as ‘persons of interest’ they are known only as ‘Pawpooh’ and ‘Ross’.

These men are said to frequent Dela Vega City and other areas in Spanish Town believed to be operated by the Clansman gang.

They are being asked to report to the police by midday tomorrow.
