Full slate of JAM T20 matches weekend
THE third round of matches in the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) JAM T20 competition will continue with a full slate of matches this weekend, according to cricket operations officer Courtney Francis.
Francis told the Jamaica Observer yesterday that “the games for the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium are still on for Saturday (today)”. He added that all other matches originally set to be played today have been rescheduled to tomorrow.
If favourable weather allows it, today’s fixtures at the Trelawny complex will see Westmoreland CA taking on western rivals St James in the 10:00 am opener, while Trelawny are set to entertain Hanover at 2:00 pm.
Francis explained that given the preparation setbacks caused by the passing of Hurricane Sandy, the remaining matches were pushed back a day and added that there have also been venue changes.
The changes mean that the St Ann and Mico University clash at Noranda Bauxite in Discovery Bay has been moved to tomorrow.
The St Elizabeth CA and Manchester CA (10:00 am), as well as the Clarendon and St Catherine CA (2:00 pm) matches will be played at the Manley Horne Park, also tomorrow.
On the same day, St Thomas will challenge Lucas CC at 10:00 am, while Police SC welcome Kensington CC for the 2:00 pm feature match at Elletson Road.
Parish rivals GC Foster and Portmore will battle in the morning fixture, while Boys’ Town battle St Catherine CC in the 2:00 pm encounter at Up Park Camp.
At the Kensington Park ground, Kingston CC face the Jamaica Defence Force at 10:00 am, and Kingston & St Andrew CA go up against Melbourne CC in the afternoon’s feature.
