Accused men in Clover Graham’s murder remanded
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The men accused of killing 56-year-old attorney Clover Graham are to be tried in Home Circuit Court for murder.
The men’s case was on Wednesday transferred from St Catherine to Kingston and a return date of November 16 set.
They were remanded into custody. Justice Donald McIntosh ordered that the men, who have no attorneys, be assigned legal aid.
The men are Simeon Lewis, otherwise called ‘Fret Dem’, 25-year-old contractor of Sinclair Drive, Gordon Pen in Spanish Town and Mandela Town; Quron Patterson, otherwise called ‘Q’, 22-year-old labourer of North Avenue, Gordon Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine; and Shannon Campbell, otherwise called ‘Wire’, 18-year-old labourer of Sinclair Drive, Gordon Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine.
The men were charged this month with murder and conspiracy to murder.
Graham’s body was found face down on the infield of the Caymanas Polo Club, off Mandela Highway in St Catherine, on August 19.
Her throat was slashed.
Graham, a University of Technology lecturer and United Nations representative, lived at Eltham Acres in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Police theorised that she was abducted while entering her home the night before her body was found.
