Obama victory ‘well deserved’ says Simpson Miller
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has hailed the reelection of US President Barack Obama as “historic and well deserved”.
The victory was a reward for his “tremendous efforts over the past four years to guide your country towards a path of sustainable economic recovery,” Simpson Miller said in congratulating Obama.
Jamaica anticipates the “continued strengthening of the special bonds of friendship which exist between our two countries as we seek to build a brighter future for both our peoples”, she said.
Obama was reelected Tuesday night in an election which also saw the US retain its balance of power with a Republican House of Representatives and a Democratic Senate.
