But when Margherita Missoni does the same thing, it’s an entirely different story. Ever the philanthropist, the granddaughter of Missoni founders Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, has had an almighty wardrobe decluttering session in aid of charity — but you’ll find no scruffy seconds here, just vintage Missoni pieces that have been lovingly worn and collected by Margherita over the years.

Over 70 pieces fresh from her personal collection are available for purchase on Yoox.com, ranging from hats at £82 to long gowns at £855 and iconic knitwear pieces from £388 – but you’ll have to be quick as they’re being snapped up fast. The entire proceeds of the sale will go to OrphanAid Africa, a charity the 29-year-old has supported for many years and for which she is Italian president. Each item has a memory – from the dress she wore to a gala for Singapore Fashion Week with her now husband, to a lurex patchwork dress which was worn by Kate Moss in an advertising campaign shot by Mert & Marcus.
