Exotic delights
Gee Wee Restaurant in Cross Roads, Kingston was transformed into automotive nirvana on Sunday for the second of the Exotic Cars ‘n Fashion show.
“The event was great,” said one of the organisers Conrie Jackson.
The show, which ventured out of Portmore for the first time earlier this year, received extra support due to the fact that a few hours after its start time Rally Jamaica had ended. This gave patrons more variety than the usual Euro-centric automotive theme for which the event has become known. While the dominant displays consisted of the BMW Innovation Club, others in attendance ranged from the Jamaica Classic Car Club to the two-wheeled insanity of the Crazy Bikers.
At the end of the night, Rick B’s BMW X5 collected the Best Euro trophy due to the immaculate detail of his tricked out interior.
“Happy to win it,” he said. “I put a lot of time and effort into building my X5.”
The Best Asian trophy went to the 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi of Kevin Gardener, who was excited to have wrestled victory from the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV of Kamar Khan.
Once the car stuff was out of the way, things turned to the fashion side of the show as the Lacartin models strutted their stuff in designs from young designers.
