JAMAICANS have won a total of $1.4 billion between January and November in the popular numbers game Pick 4, says gaming company Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL).

SVL hopes this favourable statistic augers well for business this holiday season.

“We could all use a little bonus over Christmas,” said Sonia Davidson, SVL’s vice-president of group corporate communications.

“By playing Pick 4, thousands of Jamaicans could enter 2013 with an additional cushion in their pocket. You can’t win if you don’t play,” she said.

Introduced in January, Pick 4 allows players to choose four numbers — one each from four different sets of 10 numbers, 0 of 9 — and have the chance to win up to $54,000 from a $10 bet. Players can bet using the straight option with a payout of $54,000 for every $10 they bet if they match the numbers in order. They also have four mixed bet options with a variety of ways to match and win.

SVL has grown revenues from $6 billion to $28 billion, and paid out over $100 billion in prize money and contributed over $125 billion to the Jamaican economy, over its 11 years in the betting business.

The firm has also had to increasingly invest more overtime to keep the games interesting. Among SVL’s popular game offerings are Lotto, Super Lotto, Cash Pot, Pick 2, Pick 3, Lucky 5, and JustBet.

Cash Pot has the highest frequency of payouts among SVL games.
