Elephant Group to open call centre in MoBay
MONTEGO BAY, St James — THREE hundred jobs will be created when the Elephant Group opens its first call centre in Montego Bay in March, according to Zenya Gallagher, the company’s vice-president of human resources and Corporate Operations.
She said the planned opening of the facility forms part of the company’s initiative to expand operations in the Caribbean.
“We have nine call centres in various countries such as New Jersey and Florida and we also have a call centre that we outsource in Utah. In the Caribbean we are based in Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, and Dominica. We also have a call centre in India and the Philippines,” she said, adding that “we are expanding a lot in the Caribbean, and Jamaica is going to be one of our biggest sources”.
Gallagher said she has been really impressed with Jamaica on a whole, and is looking forward for a successful experience.
“We are really excited to be coming to Jamaica and I really love it here (Jamaica), so I am really hoping that we will have a successful business here,” she explained.
Gallagher was speaking with the Observer West on Tuesday during a job fair held by her company at the University of the West Indies Western Jamaica Campus in Montego Bay.
Throughout the day, a number of persons were interviewed for various positions that will become available when the Montego Bay operations begin.
Elephant Group was only a vision until Benzion Aboud turned it into a reality in 1996. The primary focus of the company is to assist companies in enhancing the value of their customer relationships and deliver consistent consumer experience across all channels within the contact centre environment.
Elephant Group will have their next job fair in Montego Bay on Wednesday.
