‘Y’ Speedos swimmers off for Florida meet
EIGHT members of the ‘Y’ Speedos Swim Club were scheduled to leave the island yesterday to compete in the 2013 International Senior Davie Nadadores Invitational LCM in Florida today.
The meet will be held at the Nova Southeastern University Aquatic Complex, Davie, Fort Lauderdale.
The team will be managed by ‘Y’ Speedos’ First Vice-President, Annette Francis Barnett. ‘Y’ Speedos will be represented by the following swimmers: Girls — Jada Newell, Leanne McMaster, Angara Sinclair; Boys — Sean-Douglas Gooden, Justin James, Nicolai Johnson, Chay Stewart, Sidrell Williams.
The swimmers will commence competition this morning and continue this afternoon.
The 2013 International Senior Davie Nadadores Invitational LCM is an eminent swim meet for senior swimmers with qualifying entry time standards similar to the CARIFTA level.
‘Y’ Speedos Swim Club is very pleased that the eight swimmers participating will use the meet as an opportunity to establish qualifying times for the upcoming CARIFTA Swimming & Water Polo Championships, which will be hosted by the Amateur Swimming of Association of Jamaica (ASAJ), in Jamaica, March 29-April 5, at the National Stadium Pool.
