CVM appoints new CEO
CVM Television yesterday announced the appointment of Andrew McGlone as chief executive officer.
The appointment became effective January 21, 2013.
McGlone has a wealth of experience in digital media and brings to CVM proven ability in digital television broadcasting and filming, the company said.
With over 15 years experience in the IT and media industry, McGlone has lived and worked in Europe, Africa, North America, and the Caribbean. He has worked with Bytes Group, Grand Thornton, World Media Film and television stations in Europe and North Africa. He also developed news gathering systems and successfully created a unit, based in France and the UK which broadcast digitally to Europe and North Africa via the EutelSat.
“We are excited about having Andrew on board, with his practical experience in the digital media sphere. He will no doubt be an asset to the industry and CVM in stewarding the station toward its goal of being fully digital by 2015,” said CVM TV chairman Wayne Chen.
CVM director Shamena Khan added that the company searched “extensively” for the “right person”.
“We have searched extensively for the right person with a combination of practical experience in production, digital experience and the ability to transform a business – we have found that in Andrew and are very pleased to have him on board,” she said.
McGlone is said to be an avid yachtsman that has sailed over 55,000 miles, crossing the Alantic on more than one occasion and has been instrumental in representing Jamaica in the 2011 Pineapple Cup Yacht race.
