2013/14 Estimates to be tabled on April 4
PARLIAMENT will prorogue on March 28 to make way for the tabling of the 2013/14 Estimates of Expenditure on April 4, following the Throne Speech by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen.
The announcement was made yesterday by minister with responsibility for information, Sandrea Falconer, during the weekly Jamaica House Press Briefing.
She said Minister of Finance and Planning Dr Peter Phillips will open the budget debate on April 18; Opposition spokesman on finance, Audley Shaw, will make his contribution on April 23 to be followed by Opposition Leader Andrew Holness on April 25.
Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller will take the floor on April 30 and Phillips will close off on May 1.
Falconer informed journalists yesterday that the leader of government business in Parliament has advised the Opposition of the dates.
