AT 25 years old, Dominic McDowell, a past student of the University of Technology and the founder of DAM Good Enterprises, ventures into an area outside of his studies in banking & financial services with his tasty and comforting home-made brownies. DAM Good Enterprises is Jamaica’s only producer and distributor of pre-packaged brownies. Currently there are nine delicious flavours, namely, Cookies & Cream, M & M, Marshmellow, Coco Loco, Mocha, White Mint Chocolate Chip, Black Forest, Reesez Pieces, and Nature’s Best. With the help of a small but very supportive team consisting of Sherilla Gordon and Stacy–Ann Neilson, the newly-established business has managed to distribute their creative product to different locations including the UTech campus.

Brownies are just one of the traditional pastry treats that some of us grew up knowing and eventually loving. It has also been the platform for most of the chocolate lovers. DAM Good Enterprises treated the TEENchef team last Thursday to one out of their nine specialty brownies, the “Coco Loco”.

The “Coco Loco” flavour is a mouth-filling combination of chocolate infused with moisture contributed by a secret ingredient and topped with toasted coconut flakes. At the first bite, the chocolate is what greets you, and as you continue to chew the moist and decadent treat, you begin to taste this hint of a unique coconut-flavoured beverage coming through. It marries well with the chocolate by adding that extra texture and flavour profile, topping the brownie with sweetened toasted coconut flakes. It’s just what we would call “the icing on the cake”.
