FALMOUTH, Trelawny — Senior investigators of the Falmouth CIB were up to late yesterday evening questioning a woman who allegedly lured her husband to a beach yesterday and attempted to kill him, with the assistance of two accomplices.

The detectives were also working assiduously to find the whereabouts of the two accomplices — a man and a woman.

The woman’s husband, the police reported, managed to escape after pretending that he was dead after he was beaten and his throat slashed during the alleged attack by his wife and her two accomplices early yesterday morning on the popular Burwood Beach, near Cooper’s Pen, in Trelawny.

According to a reliable source, the woman and her two colleagues allegedly held one of her husband’s male friends hostage in Duncan’s Bay, Trelawny, Sunday evening. They forced the hostage to call his friend (the woman’s husband) and set up a meeting between the two of them (woman and husband) on the beach.

Upon his arrival on the beach, the source said, the man was allegedly set upon by his wife and her two accomplices. The three, it was further alleged, badly beat the man, then slashed his throat, before leaving him for dead. The badly injured man, who feigned his death, managed to place a call to the police who were quick on the scene and took him to hospital.

The woman was subsequently held by the police in Duncan’s Bay.
