SLB application period begins March 25

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Students’ Loan Bureau’s (SLB) loan application period for the 2013/2014 academic year begins on March 25.

Applicants must visit the SLB to complete and submit the application form by May 31st.

A US$20 million loan from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) was approved by Parliament this week to enable the SLB to meet its obligations for the current financial year.

A similar loan was provided by the CDB in November 2012.

SLB applications have increased from about 6,000 students with a loan request of $1.8 billion in 2007/2008 to more than 16,000 requesting $14.8 billion for this academic year.
