Konshens thrills at the ‘Beach’
There was a large turnout for Konshens’ show at South Beach Cafe in Kingston last Friday.
By 10 pm, sidewalks leading to the venue were lined with vehicles as fans of the deejay made their way to the free concert.
Opening performances at the Pepsi- sponsored event came from his Subkonscous Crew’s youngest recruits: Lucrative, Jah Strength and Tamarley.
Then it was time for singjay Darrio who had the audience’s undivided attention with songs like School Fee, Nuffi Floss Inna Dance, Parrot and Sidung.
It set the perfect tone for the man of the moment who made his way onstage to deafening screams from female fans.
The audience hung on to Konshens’ every note as he took them on a journey from early hits like Winner, This Means Money, Good Girl Gone Bad, Pretty Devil and Do Di Ting.
Other popular songs such as Realest Song, Buss a Blank, Last Drink, Gyal Dem a Talk Bout We, Wine Inna Di Road, Bubble Gyal a Bubble, Take Time Nuh and I’m Cumming also hit the mark.
A number of entertainers came out to support Konshens. Among them Raine Seville, Flippa Moggler, G Whizz and Romaine Virgo who had fans singing the lyrics of I know Best, Rich in Love and Don’t You Remember.
Konshens then brought a special guest to the stage.
“This is the person that introduced me to music and the man who influenced me all the way,” was how he introduced his older brother and singer Delus.
They performed their collaborations Mi Mada, She’s Happy and Let Mi Love You.
For the finale, the performers gathered to sing Delus’ hit song What Tomorrow May Bring.
