Transport Authority amnesty for PPV owners ends June 30
Kingston, Jamaica – The Transport Authority is reminding people who are currently operating public passenger vehicles without the requisite road licences that under an amnesty which commenced on April 1, they have until June 30, 2013 to legitimise their operations.
The Transport Authority says that during this period, the following guidelines apply:
All routes are open to first time applicants in all geographical areas save and except those in the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region (KMTR) that are exclusively licensed to the Jamaica Urban Transit Company. The boundaries of the KMTR for this purpose are Manor Park, Papine and Eleven Miles in St. Andrew and Central Village in St Catherine.
Change of route applications for routes that were closed prior to the commencement of the Amnesty on April 1 and applications with proforma invoices are prohibited.
