Fraser-Pryce heads ‘US v The World’ relay at Penn
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Double Olympic 100 metre champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will lead the Jamaican charge against the US when the two country’s long-standing rivalry takes centre stage at the Penn Relays next Saturday.
Fraser-Pryce is expected to be a part of the women’s 4x100m in the ‘USA vs. The World’ dubbed segment of the three-day relay carnival, which begins next Thursday.
The Jamaica women, anchored by Fraser-Pryce, finished second to USA Red which had Tianna Madison, Allyson Felix, Bianca Knight and Carmelita Jeter, the same quartet that would go on to break the world record at the London Olympics last summer.
It’s not yet clear which Jamaicans will accompany Fraser-Pryce to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but a complete list of the participants will be announced next week.
The US swept the sprint, mile and sprint medley relays for men and women at last year’s showing.
