Grange throws National Junior Record at Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA, USA – Holmwood Technical’s Gleneve Grange smashed the Jamaican National Junior Record in the discus throw here on the first full day of competition at the 119th Penn Relays with an impressive 54.29m to upset favourite Tara-Sue Barnett of Edwin Allen High.
Interestingly Grange’s throw broke two records of identical 51.02m marks, the Jamaican record set last June by former St Jago athlete Kellion Knibb and the Penn Relay record set last year by former Edwin Allen athlete Daniel Thomas.
Grange told the Observer afterwards that despite the NJR, she did not think she had a good day.
