Technology training centre for Liberty Academy at the Priory
IN keeping with Liberty Academy at the Priory High School department’s development programme, plans are under way to establish a technology training centre starting September 2013.
This will facilitate in-service training in the pilot subjects basics of electronics and solar electricity technology, and computer programming and web page design, with an inaugural programme during the summer holidays.
Liberty focuses on creating academically strong, well-rounded and spiritually enriched students, the school says.
The school offers a central and stimulating environment with small classroom sizes and highly qualified teachers which provides a backdrop for a history of outstanding performance.
The school says it takes pride in introducing these enrichment courses, owing to the programme’s strong technological component and particularly, at a time when there is much talk nationally and internationally of renewable energy and solar electricity.
These will be short certification courses in collaboration with Vector Technology Institute and will be offered to secondary school students in an after-school environment.
Lolet Edwards, principal, says she anticipates delivering a quality technology programme and stands committed to fulfilling the high school’s mandate of making an outstanding contribution to nation building.
Early sign up and registration may be conducted at the school’s main office in St Andrew.
