Cathi Levy opens Imagine today
CATHI Levy opens her long-awaited production, Imagine Not Magic… but Magical, this weekend.
The show takes centrestage at the National Indoor Sports Centre in St Andrew today with a special showing for schools starting at 11:00 am.
Levy, who was fine-tuning the show when she spoke to Splash yesterday, said all was in place for what she described as “a production aimed at transporting patrons from the mundane.”
She added that her local cast has been deep in rehearsals with the Kentucky-based ZFX Entertainment Group, which has been conducting training in aerial effects that Levy believes will bring the show to life.
“The cast has been taking to the training like ducks to water and everyone is ready to thrill,” Levy said.
This year’s show commemorates 25 years since Levy started her children’s theatre troupe — Little People and Teen Players’ Club.
The cast includes a number of deaf players as well as former members of ‘Little People’.
Imagine will have a eight-show run with six performances this weekend. The production continues next Wednesday and Thursday (Labour Day) with one show each day.
