A tyre for all seasons
WHILE the classes may differ, all the racers in Sunday’s go-kart meet will be sporting Maxxis tyres.
“We are intent on making this the brand of choice for all Jamaica,” said Nicholas McKoy, general manager of Chad-Ad Distributors Limited, local suppliers of Maxxis tyres.
McKoy said the Jamaica Karting Association (JKA) and his company, which also distributes batteries and lubricants, recently inked a deal to supply the racing outfit with the Taiwan-made tyres.
“The Jamaica Karting Association approached us for an affordable tyre that gave optimal performance,” he said.
According to McKoy, his company went a step further.
“Any profits made from the sale of these go-kart tyres would be pumped back into the association,” he said.
Neil Williams, president of JKA, had high marks for the tyres as well as for Chad-Ad Distributors Limited.
“The tyres perform very well. The wear is good as after a race day, substantial wear is still left in them. And the prices are a third of the cost,” he said. “It has also created closer races and made the sport more competitive.”
Williams said Chad-Ad Distributors Limited recently gave the JKA a cheque for $48,000.
“This is good for the club and good for the sport,” he added.
McKoy said Chad-Ad Distributors Limited had tyres for all types of vehicles.
“We stock a wide range of tyres for all applications… industrial vehicles, tractors, trailers, cars, you name it,” he said.
Started in 1997, Chad-Ad Distributors Limited has an outlet at Newport West and another on Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston.
“Maxxis tyres outperform the other brands on all fronts… consistency, durability, performance, and competitive prices,” McKoy added.
