The Under-21 netball teams of Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and England will be participating in what the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) is announcing as an Under-21 practice series to take place at the University of Technology (UTech) and the University of the West Indies (UWI) from July 10 to 19.

General manager of the JNA, Karen Anderson, says the series “will provide valuable experience and practice for the players as they prepare for the World Youth Netball Championship (WYNC) which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, next month”.

Jamaica will go up against Trinidad and Tobago in the first match, which will be played at UWI on July 10.

Trinidad and Tobago and England will play on July 12 at UTech.

The host nation will then play England at UTech on July 13, and will again play Trinidad and Tobago on July 14 at UWI. On that same day Jamaica’s Under-16 team will also play the England team at the same venue.

On July 16 and July 18, Jamaica will play England at UTech.

The last match of the series takes place on July 19 between Trinidad and Tobago and England, also at UTech.

All matches will start at 7:30 pm except for the games on July 14 when the starting time will be 4:30 pm.

The WYNC, which will showcase the best players at the Under-21 level from 20 countries around the world, gets going at the Emirates Sports Arena in Glasgow on August 21, and will run until August 31. The Jamaicans are drawn in Group C along with Scotland, Wales, Samoa and the Cayman Islands; Trinidad and Tobago are drawn in Group B along with Bermuda, New Zealand and Malta; while England are drawn in Group D along with Singapore, Barbados, Papua New Guinea and the Republic of Ireland.
