Beyoncé and Solange snub father’s wedding
He divorced daughter Beyoncé’s mother Tina after more than 30 years of marriage. But Mathew Knowles has clearly moved on with his life. The 61-year-old married former model Gena Charmaine Avery last Sunday in Houston, Texas, but Beyoncé, 31, and her sister Solange, 27, were not in attendance.
“Unfortunately, Beyoncé and Solange had previous engagements which made it impossible for them to attend,” Mathew told TMZ.
Beyoncé is currently in the midst of her Mrs Carter tour, and Solange is touring to promote her new EP True. She performed at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, and the night before her superstar sister took to the stage at the Super Dome.
Mathew — who is also Beyoncé’s former manager — married former realtor, Gena, 48, following an 18-month engagement. He split from from wife Tina in 2009 after it was revealed he had an affair and a baby boy, Nixon, with actress Alexsandra Wright.
