To have & to hold at Grand Pineapple Resort, Negril

A bride’s personality is often reflected in her wedding, down to the finest detail. Her dress, make-up, hair, and the overall feel of the ceremony speak volumes.

For the bride in search of an intimate wedding, Grand Pineapple Beach Resort (GPR) in Negril is an excellent option. Far removed from the hustle and bustle, GPR has been aptly dubbed ‘the cutest little resort in Negril’. Split into two sides — one boasting amazing views of the ocean and the other teeming with indigenous flora and neatly manicured gardens — GPR has a sort of Alice In Wonderland whimsy.

Treasured Moments

Complete with charming ‘gingerbread’ cottages, painted in the most awe-inspiring Caribbean colours, this resort is a great option for couples on a tight budget.

Guests staying a total of seven nights in a beachside category at the resort qualify for a complimentary ‘Treasured Moments’ wedding. This package includes a beautiful ceremony and reception, decorated with fresh garden flowers, a tropical flower bouquet and boutonniere for the bride and groom and a two-tier wedding cake.

Ready and waiting to make your day as special as can be is a personal wedding planner assisted by a resort wedding team, prepped with pre-recorded musical accompaniment and a marriage certificate. The 30-minute reception — for the newlyweds and up to six guests — features a sparkling wine toast and cold hors d’oeuvres.

Exquisite Moments

Couples may also choose the ‘Exquisite Moments’ theme, which as its name suggests provides just that! This package includes chiavari chairs, a personal wedding planner and resort wedding team, along with pre-recorded musical accompaniment and a marriage certificate. A one-hour reception for the bride, groom and up to six guests is also included. As an added bonus, newlyweds will be treated to breakfast in bed at the start of their honeymoon, a 30-minute honeymoon photo session with one complimentary 5×7 photo and a DVD of their wedding ceremony.

Renewal Of Vows

If you’ve already tied the knot, but are looking to reaffirm your love and commitment GPR offers the ‘Always and Forever’ renewal of vows package. This includes a beautiful ceremony, co-ordinated by a personal planner and dedicated resort team. The ceremony is made complete with a commemorative Renewal of Vows Certificate and a one-tier celebratory cake. The final touch is a 30-minute sparkling wine toast and cold hors d’oeuvres reception for the couple and up to six guests.

Couples can increase the guest count as well as other elements to customise and personalise their wedding. This would be at an additional cost. There’s also the luxury of working with a devoted wedding planner to select every element of their special day — all the while keeping within budget and without skimping on the romance. The resort also hosts wedding receptions for those interested in booking a special venue for their ‘after-party’.

Special photography and videography packages are also available, and the bride who wants to pamper herself and perhaps her ladies-in-waiting may choose to do so at the resort’s celebrated Red Lane Spa.

A destination wedding in Negril at GPR gets our nod at Vows and will, we reckon, get yours too.
