V Lounge launches in fine style
V-Bar & Lounge located in Independence City, St Catherine, opened its doors in fine style – LED lights that covered most of the building’s exterior were pretty impressive and memorable, as were the bold lights and massive signage – to members of the media on Thursday, August 15. Guests were greeted by Heineken and Smirnoff-branded hostesses who ushered them to the top floor of the lounge and to a beautiful open-air deck with wicker-style high chairs and tables as well as modern, white swivel stools around the V-shaped bar. The visible city lights added to the elegant environment.
Dinner in this formidable setting comprised of Oriental favourites like : Chinese noodles in oyster sauce, sweet and sour chicken, roasted chicken, lemon chicken, spring rolls and Chinese wings.
To top it all off, guests enjoyed copious amounts of the signature drink of the night, Smirnoff Surprise.
Richard Yang, owner of the V Bar & Lounge, tells Thursday Life that he wanted to bring something completely different to Jamaica.
“Everything here is first-world; the lighting, the sound, the décor, all incorporate modern elements and the best in each category. I expect here to do very well because we have put a lot of thought into the entire location.” It’s no idle boast!
The club, which occupies the entire first floor, is a veritable statement. Its all-white décor makes the amazing light show pop right before your eyes. A DJ console and booth stands on an elevated platform in the middle of the dance floor and features a pull-out stage that can easily change its colours.
Completely lit columns and a comfortable VIP area were some of the other eye-catching elements. Two full-service bars, with one-of-a-kind accessories, left many guests in awe.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are sponsored by Smirnoff and Heineken and showcase the best in nightlife.
Nasha Douglas, brand manager, Heineken, says that the hip, hot and trendy V-Bar, “is the perfect fit for her brand”.
The lounge is open for lunch and dinner. In addition to what was served at the launch, other menu options include Cantonese Lobster made with fresh lobster, ginger, escallion, cooking wine and oyster sauce; and the V Style Shrimp made in a special secret sauce; and Curried Chicken.

Ingredients:
1.02oz Smirnoff Green Apple
0.50oz Smirnoff 21
3.0oz fruit punch
1.0oz simple syrup
0.75oz lime juice
Method:
Combine in a mixer. Serve in a rock glass on ice.
