MINDLESS BEHAVIOR to ROCK JAMAICA on September 28

MINDLESS Behavior, the popular American boy band that has sold millions of records, singles, and ring tones, is set to thrill their Jamaican fan base for the first time at the concert Young & In Charge on September 28.

Young & In Charge is being presented by Somerset Crest, Urban Angels Music Group, and 957. The sponsors for the event are D&G Sof’ Drinks, Fame 95 FM, ZIP 103 FM, MDTV, and CES. The event will be hosted by ZJ Sparks.

Speaking on the concert, Young & In Charge promoter Jason Newman said:

“We are projected to have a sold-out crowd because of the help of young Jamaicans. They have been sparking interest in the concert via Facebook and Twitter and played a great role in D&G Jamaica jumping on board for the project. We are very grateful for the support that the beverage giant has been giving us thus far.

“Within the first 48 hours, all Ultra-VIP tickets were sold out via touchtix.net, and hopefully the same occurs for all other ticket tiers ahead of the concert. We want persons of all ages to experience this concert, and that’s the primary reason gates will open as early as 1:00 pm.”

Keeping true to the event’s title, Young & In Charge will also feature a host of contemporary artistes that are popular among the younger demographic in Jamaica. These acts include dancehall powerhouse Tifa, Call Angola’s Jah Bouks, songstress Denyque, and the energetic performer QQ. Shanhill, Natel, Wayne J, and Angele Smith are also on the bill.

According to Carla Hollingsworth, brand manager for PepsiCola Jamaica: “We are extremely proud to be presenting this event with truly Jamaican products, born, bred and enjoyed right here. The amazing line-up of young and developing talent on this show made it an easy choice for us as we are always looking for avenues through which to promote individual growth. We encourage all to come out and support the event, which will boast our entire range of thirst-quenching products, as well as to try their luck at winning tickets through the D&G Facebook page,” Hollingsworth said.

Melanie Amaro is another international performer that will make a Jamaican debut at Young & In Charge. Amaro was raised in the British Virgin Islands and is the historic winner of the first season of Simon Cowell’s American staging of X Factor. Other accolades of Amaro include a Nickelodeon Teen Choice Award nomination, and an appearance alongside the legendary Elton John, Flavor Flav, and more in a Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi.

Mindless Behavior is known for being the only urban boy band that has charted successfully in the United States since their mainstream debut in 2010. Their popular singles include My Girl, Keep Her On The Low, and the career-defining hit Mrs Right featuring Diggy Simmons.

Despite all members of the group being under the age of 18, they have already toured with the likes of Justin Bieber, Backstreet Boys, and Janet Jackson. The boy band also has a BET Award, and performance appearances at the renowned Today Show and BET 106 & Park.
