Cop’s murder case starts today
JURORS will today start hearing testimony in the case of Detective Constable Lescene Edwards, who is charged with the 2003 murder of his girlfriend.
A panel of 12 jurors was selected yesterday in the Home Circuit Court to try the case.
Edwards, 44, is charged with the murder of 23-year-old Aldonna Harris whose body was found on September 10, 2003 at her home in Pembroke Hall, Kingston 20, with a gunshot wound to the head and a suicide note close by.
However, the prosecution is contending that Harris did not write the note.
Harris had reportedly broken off a relationship with Edwards, who is the father of her children, and got married five weeks prior to her death.
