Make use of social media, Stewart tells Sagicor financial advisors
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Sandals Resorts International CEO Adam Stewart has urged Sagicor financial advisors to utilise social media in an effort to empower themselves to reach their fullest potential.
“Social media is a reality. Today, 40 million people worldwide use social media for a point of reference; they use social media for marketing,” Stewart said, adding that in the last three years social media has revolutionised the world.
“If you are not on Twitter, get on Twitter; if you are not on Facebook, get on Facebook; if you are not on Instagram, get on Instagram because the simplest way of getting to know who your customers are is to get into their lives, and social media is the world’s greatest portal into who they are,” he explained.
Stewart was speaking on the weekend at the 30th annual staging of the Sagicor Motivational Seminar at Secrets Resorts and Spa in Montego Bay, which was held under the theme ‘The Success Formula: We Sell, We Serve, We Sell again’.
He told the more than 250 financial advisors in attendance that any mistake made during the course of their duties must be rectified promptly.
“The reality is that you are only as good as your customers say that you are, so when you get it wrong, stop what you are doing and get it right,” he said, adding that “the customer is the only thing that matters.”
President and CEO of Sagicor Richard Byles, in his message to participants, said that the theme of the seminar is particularly relevant in light of the harsh economic conditions, both locally and internationally.
“I encourage all of us to embrace the opportunity that the seminar will afford to all participants to reach higher, to dig deeper and to stretch further than we’ve ever imagined,” said Byles.
Other speakers and presenters at the three-day seminar, which began last Thursday, included Robert Stevenson, Wintley Phillips; Setef Du Plessis, Chairman Sagicor Jamaica Group R Danny Williams, Olympian Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Chris Stokes, Founder and Executive Chairman NCS Enterprises; and CEO Totally Male Ltd Sandra Samuels-Reid.
