Zacca returned as PSOJ president
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Chris Zacca was on Wednesday re-elected as president of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) at a Council meeting held at the PSOJ’s offices on Hope Road.
Zacca first served as president from 2006 to 2009 and was returned to the post in 2012.
Richard Byles, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Sagicor Life of Jamaica Limited; Keith Duncan, managing director of Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB); and Don Wehby, CEO of GraceKennedy, were also re-elected as vice presidents.
Meanwhile, Michele English, president and COO of Columbus Communications (Flow) has replaced Jaqueline Sharpe, president and CEO of the Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) as honorary treasurer.
Sharpe resigned due to her new responsibilities at BNS, while Chris Barnes, managing director of the Gleaner Company, will be retained as honorary secretary.
Also elected to the PSOJ executive committee were seven associations: Jamaica Bankers Association (JBA), Jamaica Exporters Association (JEA), Jamaica Employers Federation (JEF), Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA), Jamaica Securities Dealers Association (JSDA), Small Business Association of Jamaica (SBAJ) and the Women Business Owners Association (WBO).
The executive committee comprises the president, three vice-presidents, a CEO, an honorary secretary, an honorary treasurer and seven association members.
