AFTER a two-week break, the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) resumes today with a packed schedule of mouthwatering matches across the island.

In arguably the game of the fifth round, Tivoli Gardens FC welcome Waterhouse FC to the Edward Seaga Complex at 5:00 pm in a precursor to the Flow Champions Cup Knockout final set for next week.

The unbeaten Tivoli Gardens, coached by Glendon Bailey, lie in fifth place, with six points, after one win and three draws.

They are three points behind leaders Humble Lion FC, but their recent display in a 5-0 rout of rivals Arnett Gardens in the Flow Cup semi-final and the effervescent form shown by midfielder Keammar Daley so far this season, provides hope for a climb up the standings.

Third-placed Waterhouse (seven points) are also buoyant, but midfielder Romario Campbell, who scored the majestic winner in their KO semi-final 1-0 win over his former club Harbour View FC, is expected to be out after recent revelations that he has a blood clot in his chest cavity.

The Junior Francis-conditioned team, however, should have the services of the country’s most popular local-based striker, Jermaine ‘Tuffy’ Anderson, who played the entire 90 minutes in last Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Honduras in World Cup qualifying action.

In another attractive clash at 6:30 pm, 10th-placed Harbour View host Arnett Gardens, lying in seventh place, at the Compound.

The RSPL champions, Harbour View (four points), had a wretched start to the season, but they finally notched a win in a 1-0 away result against Rivoli United.

Arnett Gardens (five points) have also been inconsistent, but a 4-1 victory at home to Sporting Central Academy in the fourth round, has given signs that they are turning the corner.

In a 3:30 pm kick-off, hosts Montego Bay United take on promoted Rivoli United at the Wespow Park. Montego Bay are second in the standings with seven points, while Rivoli are eighth with five.

In another 3:30 pm start, the table-topping Humble Lion FC, who have enjoyed a bright start to the campaign, welcome Boys’ Town FC (five points) to the Effortville Community Centre.

At the University of the West Indies Mona Bowl, another promoted outfit August Town (six points), entertain Cavalier SC (six) in yet another early fixture.

In the fourth and final 3:30 pm match-up, Portmore United, wallowing in last place after scraping only one point from their four outings, travel to Juici Patties Park in Clarendon to face Sporting Central (three points).
