Drift Tuner Night for Montego Bay
MOTORSPORTS and car culture will merge for Drift Tuner Night (DTN) at ATL Bogue Plaza in Montego Bay, St James, next Saturday.
The event, hosted by Skunk Nation and Team Slide Life, kicks off at 6:00 pm.
Influenced by Javier Ortega’s Honda Day in Florida, Skunk Nation plans to bring its take on the local import tuning/performance scene to the second city.
“DTN is a joint venture between ourselves and Team Slide Life to show our appreciation to the western side of the island,” said Nick Lue, founder of car club Skunk Nation.
Last summer, ‘the Nation’ hosted a successful staging of Import Tuner Night on the grounds of the National Stadium in Kingston.
Team Slide Life has been responsible for several drift/dexterity events in Montego Bay recently and DTN will see that extensive experience brought to the fold to combine with Skunk Nation’s car show knowledge to create a drift event with an exhibition twist to it.
“People can expect a combination of high-energy drifting and a display of some of Jamaica’s highly modified street/race cars,” explained Lue.
Skunk Nation will also be giving away trophies in three categories; Stinkest Ride, Best from the West, and Crowd Favourite.
