No confidence in Bunting and Simpson Miller
Dear Editor,
As an ordinary Jamaican citizen, I have to be honest, I have lost all confidence in Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and Minister of National Security Peter Bunting’s ability to keep us safe.
It is painfully clear that Mrs Simpson Miller, as minister of defence, and Mr Bunting, with the national security portfolio, cannot cope with ensuring our safety in this country.
I am certain that socially they both are very nice people, but in the capacity of ensuring the safety and welfare of the citizens and our borders it is obvious they don’t have any ideas how to do so or control what is happening.
I’m not writing to publicly embarrass anyone or to undermine your political party, but I feel that I have to use this medium to express myself and speak the truth.
The national security minister does well in presenting his facts and making impassioned pleas and speeches, but I find he is woeful in policy direction or providing additional strategies to keep Jamaicans safe. I do not mean it personally when I say you are out of your depth, Mr Bunting. Mrs Simpson Miller, as the overall head of the country, you are and have been defaulting on your responsibility to ensure that something is done to help this failing minister and the country in general.
I don’t expect to hear or get an admission from either Mrs Simpson Miller or Mr Bunting that I am speaking the truth, because that will be of little consolation to us cowering citizens. What I do hope is that both will take a long, hard look at themselves and realise the awesome and critical responsibility that they have to us citizens and act immediately to save us from criminal elements.
