Tivoli, Lion in exciting draw
Tivoli Gardens and Humble Lion played to a gritty but entertaining goalless draw in seventh-round Red Stripe Premier League action at the Edward Seaga Complex yesterday.
The result enabled Humble Lion to remain in the
top-three of the RSPL with 13 points, while Tivoli Gardens kept pace with the leaders on 10 points.
Both teams played a good passing game, but
failed to convert from easy chances after breaching each other’s defence.
Humble Lion went as far as striking the Tivoli Gardens upright through Sean Coleman in minute 36, while Rafiek Thomas threw away Tivoli Gardens’ best effort in the second half.
After summing up what took place on the field of play where victory was possible with better finishing, both Geoffrey Maxwell of Humble Lion and Glendon ‘Admiral Bailey’ expressed satisfaction with the result.
Bailey said: ” I think this draw is a good result for us as a step in rebuilding the players’ confidence.”
