NCB awards staff at Pinnacle Awards
RYAN Murdock was on December 7 given the NCB Customer Care Agent of the Year award at the annual Pinnacle Awards hosted by the bank at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
Murdock, who joined the bank two years ago, had already won several awards at the bank, including Top Campaign Agent and Top Outbound Sales Agent.
However, he acclaimed the Customer Care Agent of the Year award as the one that has brought him immense satisfaction.
“It’s a very competitive and demanding environment and to be such a young professional and fairly new to the bank and the industry itself, it was certainly a great accomplishment and I’m very thankful,” said the 26-year-old, who graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Bachelor’s in banking and finance in 2011.
He said being a customer care agent comes with numerous responsibilities, and is key to the success of the bank.
“What do I like the most about my job? The diversity. I’m never bored. It’s a very dynamic environment, and the only thing which is definitely constant is ‘change’. I get to interact with a wide range of personalities both internally and externally. There’s always a learning opportunity, not only when a challenge presents itself, but I also get a chance to gain an appreciation of the operations of the various units across the entire banking system and industry,” he said.
“With my experience, I have learned the valuable lesson of working efficiency under pressure while still providing an excellent level of quality results. I have gained and appreciated the understanding for the necessity of an employee to possess not only excellent interpersonal skills, but also a continuously developing aptitude towards sound supervisory project management, organisational and budgeting skills and being creative in mindset and execution of tasks with an understanding of strategic marketing objectives and sound time management skills,” he said.
Seventy-seven employees received awards, including seven individuals who topped the sales performance criteria.
They included Fitzroy Donaldson, who is attached to the Falmouth branch who won the award for Business Banker of the Year; Patricia Burnett of the Retail Banking Division, who won Direct Sales Agent of the Year; and Julane Gayle from NCB Savanna-la-Mar who won the prize for Business Development Representative of the Year.
Tracy-Ann Reboe from the Duke Street branch won the trophy for Personal Banker of the Year; Christopher Hall of the bank’s Payment Services Division won the award for Sales & Relationship Officer of the Year; Tanesha Roberts won the Private Client Account Executive of the Year prize and Michelle Garrison from the Half-Way-Tree branch won the trophy for Wealth Advisor of the Year.
