Chalice rocks ‘Jazz’ with vintage Reggae
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — Chalice rolled back the years with a short but energetic set on night one of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival at the Trelawny Multipurpose stadium in Florence Hall.
With Dean Stephens on lead vocals, they band which came to the fore in the early1980s had the crowd rocking as they belted out their more popular songs including ‘Rocky Road/Good to be There’, ‘I’m Trying’, ‘Marie’, ‘Dangerous Disturbance’, ‘Can’t dub Cant Whine, and the catchy ‘Pocomania Day’.
Chalice took the stage right after another good set by Chris Martin, who, while he had the younger patrons rocking, Chalice captured the more mature audience with their medley of hits.
