MCKAY Security is partnering with Caymanas Track limited (CTL) to host Caymanas Live, a series of entertainment shows, it was announced at Caymanas Park on Thursday.

The first of nine events to be hosted under the series will kick off on March 1 and culminate in November at Caymanas Park.

Jason McKay, general manager of McKay Security, said his desire is to assist in promoting Caymanas Park to the wider public outside of horse racing.

“This will in due time grow the crowd attendance by having a series of live shows with Jamaica’s top performers once a month. As a sponsor of other race days such as the New Year’s day/CTL Customer Appreciation Day at Caymanas Park, McKay Security knows and understands the potential it has with creating a day such as Caymanas Live,” he said.

He added: “We have decided to use only Jamaica’s top performers for this event and once these artistes are chart toppers, they will be considered to perform at Caymanas Live, once they are available for the dates proposed. We are going to have a major show in November on a non-race day, a late stage show that is never done before because of the potential that the track has.”

Also speaking at the launch, Andrew Azar, deputy chairman for CTL, said they are pleased to partner with McKay Security and that he thanked them for hosting Caymanas Live.

“This event fits perfectly as a hand in a glove with our plans, this will be a popular and exciting action-packed event with the top security firm sponsoring the event. We are very pleased to partner with you, I think this will bring wonderful success. You could have taken your money elsewhere, but you chose to share it with CTL and for that I say thank you,” the deputy chairman said.

Sheena Rampaul, CTL’s brand manager was ecstatic about this new venture and thanked McKay security for coming on board and taking the initiative to showcase Caymanas Park as a multipurpose attraction.

“This being a series of shows for nine months, it will only get better each time. The aim of this is to show the public the other side of Caymanas Park, which is a prospective entertainment hub and not only for racing. This will aid in increasing the attendance at the track while attracting other potential sponsors and benefit all stakeholders…”

CTL’s executive marketing manager, David Hobson added: “Although horse racing is our primary business at Caymanas Park, we have to create and utilise other ways to attract a wider cross section to Caymanas Park and also introduce them to the Sport of Kings.”
