A ‘wacky’ double
He started the season on a slow note but trainer Patrick ‘Wacky’ Lynch is getting into the winners’ enclosure on a regular basis. On Saturday’s 10-race programme he saddled two winners, Hologram Shadow and Shade of Beauty.
And both were at good prices. Lynch over the years has established himself as a conditioner of note and year after year he is in the top 10 list of trainers. Keep it going Sir ‘Wacky’.
Another triple for dane nelson
There simply is no stopping champion jockey Dane Nelson. Starting the day on equal terms with Dick Cardenas, Nelson rode a spanking triple, while Cardenas was only able to ride one winner. Nelson started in the first race with an easy win on Type Two and then followed up in the fifth race with Official Report, before completing his triple on Go Go Yvonne. Nelson now leads the championship by two winners.
A winner for gary subratie
Trainer Gary Subratie recorded only his second winner of the year when his Spitfire made hacks of his three-year-old opponents by 18 lengths over 1,700 metres. For Subratie it was a welcomed return to the winners’ circle after losing many of his horses, including top racers, City Flight and Noon It Is to injury and other maladies. Keep the faith trainer, the winners will come.
