‘Tommy Lee’ returns today

‘Tommy Lee’ returns today

EMBATTLED dancehall entertainer Tommy Lee Sparta is schedule to return to Jamaica today after being denied entry to Dominica on Sunday.

The artiste, whose given name is Leroy Russell, and three members of his party, spent the night in lock-up after landing at Melville Hall Airport. He was scheduled to perform in Portsmouth.

The entertainer’s manager, Junior ‘Heavy D’ Fraser, told the Jamaica Observer that their legal representative in Dominica will be taking up the matter.

“They (the immigration officials) said we were not being arrested. Yet we were jailed and not even given any reason why… It was inhumane treatment. I have to ask ‘What is Caricom for?’,” he told Observer yesterday.

Fraser named the legal representative as Tehani Behanzin.

“We have some shows in Suriname and French Guiana, April and May. We have now focus on that,” Fraser added.

Sparta, in recent times, has been making the news. He was recently charged for breaches under the Anti-Lottery Act and is booked to appear in Half-Way-Tree Court.

Tommy Lee Sparta is known for songs including

Grave Yard, Uncle Demon, and Psycho.
