Singjay Jahmiel moves on
FIVE years after starting his career with the Shocking Vibes subsidiary Young Vibes Productions (YVP), singjay Jahmiel has signed to City Rock Entertainment.
In an interview with the Jamaica Observer on Monday, Jahmiel described the split with YVP as amicable. He said it was in the best interest of his career.
“I’ve been there for five years and with no denial, a lot of people knew me through that camp which I give thanks for but not much was being done to get me out there to the rest of the public,” he said. “I saw where my career was stagnant and when I asked questions and got answers it didn’t manifest.”
The 21-year-old entertainer’s best known songs are New Year and Dem Red Eye. He expects a different approach from management at City Rock Entertainment, which has offices in Atlanta.
“I was simply interested in their work ethic because that’s what I thought my career lacked,” Jahmiel said.
Originally from Portmore, St Catherine, Jamiel Foster (his real name) attended Jose Marti High School before kicking off his music career as Culture Jamiel.
His latest releases include Someday, Senorita, Fun Tonight and Better Tomorrow. The latter was done for YVP.
His EP, Mission, is scheduled for release in April.
