HARBOUR View FC survived a blitz from energetic Boys’ Town FC to fortuitously finish 0-0 with the hosts in the rescheduled Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) match at the Collie Smith Complex yesterday.

There was hardly any excitement in the first half, but Boys’ Town dominated the second period and had several credible chances to score.

The visitors’ compactly built goalkeeper Levor Williams was the hero, making a number of reflex saves with hands, feet and body, when Boys’ Town players found themselves with clear-cut scoring opportunities.

The point put title-holders Harbour View, more popularly known as the ‘Stars of the East’, on 48 points, in joint leadership with Montego Bay United, while struggling Boys’ Town move to 33 points in eighth-placed tie with Humble Lions.

Coach of Boys’ Town Andrew Price said he was “bitterly disappointed” his team did not “put away the chances”, but credited the “defensive unit for playing well”.

Andrew Hines, recently appointed the head coach after the resignation of Harold Thomas, conceded that “Boys’ Town had the entire game in terms of chances and everything”, while saying his team was “lucky to walk away with a point”.

While the well-grassed Collie Smith playing field was welcomed by both teams, the windy conditions made the aerial passes an often unreliable option and Harbour View, in particular, found it difficult to settle and maintain possession.

In the meantime, another rescheduled RSPL encounter is set for today Third-placed Waterhouse FC (47 points) entertain leaders Montego Bay United (48) at the Drewsland Mini-Stadium, commencing at 6:00 pm.

The top four teams at the end of the preliminary phase advance to the semi-finals.
